A summer stay on the Tauplitzalm offers views of a breathtaking mountain panorama, fresh mountain air and beautiful alpine meadows. The greatest treasure of the plateau is the easy hike around the 6 lakes, which is one of the most beautiful lake tours in Austria. The advantage of this route is that everyone can choose a shorter or longer option according to their fitness, mood and available time. Up to the viewpoint above Lake Steirersee, you can reach the road with a slight elevation even with a stroller or wheelchair.

For adrenaline junkies, the Tauplitzalm offers the beautiful, moderately difficult via ferrata Gamsblick Klettersteig (difficulty B/C) with beautiful views of the limestone peaks of the Totes Gebirge.

Unique alpine flora grows throughout the plateau, with more than 250 species of alpine plants and herbs, including alpine rose (rhododendron), gentian, primroses and bright yellow mountain arnica.

For an unforgettable view of the Alpine panorama of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hallstatt-Dachstein/Salzkammergut, visit the “Skywalk” viewing platform. This impressive plateau hovers almost freely at a height of 360 meters above the rooftops of the charming town and presents Hallstatt from a bird’s eye view. From this height, you can admire the Hallstatt Lake of glacial origin, which resembles a fjord, the town of Obertraun and the unique panorama of the Dachstein.

Only 20 kilometers from Halstatt, at the confluence of the Traun and Ischl rivers, lies Bad Ischl. The charming town and cultural centre of the Salzkammergut is reminiscent of the time when it was a favourite place of the imperial couple Sissi and Franz Joseph. To this day, Bad Ischl abounds in charm and history, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
